Cut to length machine line
Cut to length machine line, often abbreviated as CTL, are used in manufacturing to process and cut materials, typically metal coils or sheets, into specific lengths according to desired specifications. These machines are integral in industries where precision and efficiency are paramount, such as in metal fabrication and processing.

What is a cut to length machine?
Cut to length machine is a kind of equipment used to cut metal coils or non-metallic materials into fixed lengths, which is widely used in the production lines of iron and steel, automobile, home appliance, construction and other industries. It quickly and accurately processes coiled materials into flat materials of the required size by means of high-precision mechanical shearing and automated control systems, thus meeting the needs of downstream production processes.
Core functions of the cut to length machine
- Length Cutting: Continuous rolls are cut into individual sheets to set dimensions, ensuring precise lengths and straight cuts.
- Leveling: Before cutting, the material is leveled to eliminate any internal stresses that may have occurred during storage or transportation and to make the material flatter for subsequent use.
- Efficient production: Equipped with an automated control system, the cross-cutting machine can realize high-speed operation and continuous operation, which greatly improves production efficiency.
How a cut to length line work?
- Loading material
The steel coil or other material is unrolled through the uncoiler and entered into the production process. - Leveling and positioning
The leveler adjusts the flatness of the material and the measuring and positioning system accurately calculates the cutting length. - Cutting
The knife set completes the transverse cutting of the material according to the set parameters. - Stacking
The cut sheets are neatly stacked by means of a conveyor for subsequent handling and use.
